Repurposing

Recycling is an important part of life and is very stressed upon these days, therefore rather then create a new blog I am repurposing an old defunct site. A few of my older posts have to left up, if only to show how intermittent I blog.

I currently have three jobs (Used bookstore, tutoring and housekeeping) with a potential for a fourth temporary job. Add graduate school classes on top of those commitments and I cannot say I will have too much time to blog outside of what this program asks of me.
I will attempt to post something monthly, however when it comes to me and promises about blogging, I avoid them as to not make me a liar.

Schedules

I feel a need to create some sort of rhyme and reason to my life, however being so ordered around events, services, work and classes I'm loath to create any other habits. Growing up, not one day mirrored the other. Friends had schedules on the wall "Math 10-11 English 1-2 PE 3-4" and so on. Displayed for all to see, hours of the day accounted for in pastel colors.

We were never the typical home-school family. Oh, we had our classes on site, our Friday park days and other field trips, but everyday was different. The idea of planning every hour of the day has never been attractive to me. Thus the discontinuity of my day to day life renders regular blogging a great feat.
Part of me wants to start vlogging, it just seems fun. However I feel like you have to be energetic to vlog well. We'll see..

At last?

My long neglected site. I've been doing more learning than discovering these days, although both are quite time consuming. There is now the freedom and burden of a driver's license and car. As well as that of a job.

I still have yet to finish "Little Dorrit" and a bit of fiction writing coming up.

Learning Vs. Discovering

You know idea, "Learn something new every day." Well, I used to quite like that idea, however 2 years into my higher education the idea has become a bit stale. Learning is too close to tests, homework, books and textbooks. Instead I prefer to "Discover something new every day." Discovery conjures up images of adventure, exploration and excitement. Be honest with yourself, if someone said "Guess what I discovered today?" and another said "Guess what I learned today?", you would probably be more interested in what the first person had to say. Discoveries can be found anywhere, and are more likely to stick with you than something you learned.

I've had 2 discoveries today.
#1. I had known L.M. Montgomery wrote 8 books based on Anne Shirley and her children. What I discovered today is that the 4th and the 6th book (chronologically) were written about 15 years after the other six.

#2. I also learned that she wrote another book "The Blythes Are Quoted" which features more of their family. That book won't be published until October of this year. Hmm...Perhaps I know what to ask for my birthday? :]

Random Link: Toxel.com I rather enjoy this sites lists. Such as the creative hotels or mug designs.
